Week 11 Game Review

FINAL SCORE: TIGERSHARKS 23 VS THUNDERCATS 30

THUNDERCATS (6-5) TIGERSHARKS (5-6)

Late rally not enough as Tigersharks fall to Thundercats, 30-23

The Thundercats came ready to play Saturday, jumping out to a 7 goal lead early in the first half and never looking back. Attackman Doug Delange (7G, 4A), coming off a poor performance the week prior, led the Cats offense with 11 points. Overall, the Cats offense would see 7 different players score with 5 players (Delange, Goodwin, Elefante, Collins, Coker) tallying 5 points or more in the game. Defenseman Ramie BouSaab would also contribute a hat trick on the day.

Trailing 17-10 at the half, the undermanned Tigersharks continued to put up a fight despite missing several key starters, including Sharks leading scorer Alex Spang. Still, Midfielders Barton Wheeler (10G) and Michael Zanner (5G) with attackman Sean Pearce (6G, 3A) would fuel several second half rallies to bring the score within 3 near the end of the third quarter. Pearce was helped at attack by the welcome addition of defenseman Dan Krassenstein (2G) who traded in his long pole for a pair of goals to round out the Sharks offensive drive. Despite these efforts, the Cats’ momentum proved too difficult to overcome.
